The Library of Stories - Concept
THE LIBRARY OF STORIES
•A unique library which captures stories of the people of Brisbane, makes them available to the creators of art and media.
•Hub for storytellers where any recorded content could be portrayed into performance or film
•Users of the library are provided with the unique opportunity of recording their stories through multiple techniques, whether it is a recording of theirs story, documentation of it through any written material or even visual art.
•Library is a facilitator of storytelling. When one deposits a story he or she has a potential of having their story performed or filmed. The stories that haven’t been chosen within the collaboration process may still be viewed by the public through the library archive.

Folie development
After looking at some structures I started trying to find a form that would illustrate my concept most efficiently. After the tsunami that happened in Japan I started thinking of a form that would represent a tsunami wave and having constrains that would represent people's unity in order to help the victims of natural disasters.

Howard Smiths Wharfs - Installation design development
SITE
The Howard Smiths Wharfs is a flood affected area. As the conceptual part of the design is focused on the recently occurred natural disasters, it is easy to relate the installation to the site contest.
CONCEPT
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
In order to create a Folie which structure will reflect my concept I started looking at some existing buildings and installations. Such places as Brisbane’s caught house gave me an understanding how some materials can effectively portray the desired structure.

Folie development
Recent natural disasters that occurred in Australia as well as New Zealand and Japan deeply affected people who were unfortunate to be a part of the destruction that they brought. Even though some of us were lucky no to be affected by the nature’s cataclysms we all have been watching the news and hoping for the best.
As Howard Smith Wharves is an area affected by the floods I derived my concept from the connection that the world events and the site itself have. I suggest creating an installation that in some way will reflect the occurred events and will serve as a memory for all people who suffered during the natural disasters.

Urban Renewal Brisbane: Howard Smith Wharves Development
Incorporating the installation into the proposed site development.
http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/boutique-story-bridge-hotel-in-doubt-20100517-v79y.html
When analysing the existing proposal of Howard Smith Wharves development I started thinking if it would be more successful to incorporate the future Folie design into the Brisbane City Council development proposal.

The walkshop
During out tutorial we took a journey from QUT through Botanical Gardens towards our site – Howard Smith Wharves. After taking pictures and analysing the environment It became clear that the urban context of the busy Central Brisbane District is coexisting with the leisure areas of the Riverside In an effective manner. However when you reach the Howard Smith Wharves the space feels abandoned. After participating in the Walkshop activity I realised that the future project would be successful if we are able to combine the leisure and the busy business activities within our future proposal.
